What Is an IPPT Calculator?
An IPPT Calculator adds the points earned from the three Individual Physical Proficiency Test stations.
The three stations are:
push-ups;
sit-ups; and
2.4km run.
Enter your age, profile and official points for each station. The calculator displays your age group, total score, estimated result, applicable incentive and points needed for the next award.
The calculator does not convert repetitions or running time into points. You must first check the official age-based scoring table and enter the correct points.
The result is an estimate. Official scores, awards and payments are determined by the SAF and MINDEF.
How to Use the IPPT Calculator
1. Enter Your Age
Enter your age as a whole number from 17 to 60.
The calculator automatically places you into one of the SAF’s 14 age groups:
Group 1: below 22
Group 2: 22–24
Group 3: 25–27
Group 4: 28–30
Group 5: 31–33
Group 6: 34–36
Group 7: 37–39
Group 8: 40–42
Group 9: 43–45
Group 10: 46–48
Group 11: 49–51
Group 12: 52–54
Group 13: 55–57
Group 14: 58–60
Age affects how physical performance is converted into station points. However, this calculator only identifies the group; it does not perform the age-based conversion.
The BMI Calculator Singapore performs a different health screening calculation using height and weight. BMI does not determine IPPT points or whether someone is medically fit to take the test.
2. Select Your Profile
Choose the profile that applies:
NSman
NSF or active serviceman
Commando or Guards Gold standard
The profiles use different passing or Gold requirements. Select the correct one before interpreting the result.
3. Enter Push-Up Points
Enter the official push-up score as a whole number from 0 to 25.
Do not enter the number of push-ups completed. Convert your repetitions into points using the official table for your age group first.
4. Enter Sit-Up Points
Enter a whole number from 0 to 25.
Again, this is the station score, not the number of sit-ups. Different age groups can receive different points for the same number of repetitions.
5. Enter the 2.4km Run Points
Enter a whole number from 0 to 50.
Use the official scoring table to convert your recorded running time into points. Do not enter the time in minutes or seconds.
The Calorie Calculator Singapore can estimate general adult energy needs, but it cannot calculate calories burned during IPPT or recommend a military-fitness diet.
Formula Used by the Calculator
The total IPPT score is:
Total score = Push-up points + Sit-up points + 2.4km run points
Maximum station points are:
Push-ups: 25 points
Sit-ups: 25 points
2.4km run: 50 points
The maximum overall score is 100.
If any station has zero points, the calculator marks the attempt as failed even when the total would otherwise reach an award threshold.
Current IPPT Award Thresholds
The three-station scoring system and award levels are published by MINDEF.
NSman Thresholds
0–50 points: Fail
51–60 points: Pass
61–74 points: Pass with Incentive
75–84 points: Silver
85–100 points: Gold
The calculator displays these NSman incentive amounts:
Pass: S$0
Pass with Incentive: S$200
Silver: S$300
Gold: S$500
Payment remains subject to official eligibility and administrative requirements.
NSF or Active Serviceman Thresholds
Below 61 points: Fail
61–74 points: Pass
75–84 points: Silver
85 points or more: Gold
For this profile, the calculator tells users to verify award-payment entitlement with their unit. It does not display a guaranteed payment.
Commando or Guards Gold Standard
For the elite profile:
51–60 points: NSman-level Pass only
61–74 points: Pass
75–89 points: Silver
90 points or more: Gold
The higher Gold threshold applies to the selected elite profile. The tool does not verify a user’s formation, vocation or official eligibility.
IPPT Score Calculation Example
Suppose an NSman enters:
Age: 30
Push-up points: 20
Sit-up points: 20
2.4km run points: 41
Age 30 falls under:
Group 4: ages 28–30
The total score is:
20 + 20 + 41 = 81 points
For an NSman, 81 points falls within the Silver range of 75–84.
The calculator would display:
Total score: 81/100
Estimated result: Silver
NSman incentive: S$300
Next target: 4 more points to Gold
If one station had zero points, the calculator would mark the attempt as failed regardless of the total from the other stations.
What the Calculator Cannot Determine
The calculator cannot determine:
points from actual repetitions;
points from a 2.4km running time;
medical fitness for IPPT;
eligibility to take the test;
exemption status;
official attendance or completion;
payment eligibility;
whether a performance was recorded correctly; or
the final result in SAF systems.
Use the official tables for each station. Confirm the recorded outcome through the applicable official NS or unit channel.
The EDD Calculator Singapore is unrelated to IPPT scoring. Pregnancy and other medical circumstances require professional advice rather than an online fitness-score estimate.
IPPT and Other Health Measurements
IPPT assesses performance across strength and cardiovascular-fitness stations. It does not calculate body fat, BMI, calorie intake or overall health.
The BMI Calculator Male Singapore estimates BMI for adult men using height and weight. A BMI result does not predict an IPPT score.
The BMI Calculator for Kids is intended for a different age-related screening purpose. It should not be used for military fitness scoring.
More Singapore-focused calculation tools are available on the Calculator Singapores homepage. Each tool should be used only for the result it actually calculates.
Common IPPT Calculator Mistakes
Do not enter push-up or sit-up repetitions directly. Enter the points awarded for those repetitions.
Do not enter a running time in the 2.4km field. Enter the official run points.
Select the correct profile. An NSman, active serviceman and elite profile may receive different results from the same total.
Do not ignore a zero-point station. This calculator treats any zero-point station as a failed attempt.
Do not treat the displayed incentive as confirmed payment. Official entitlement depends on SAF or MINDEF records and rules.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Does the calculator convert repetitions into points?
A: No. Users must obtain their age-based station points from the official scoring tables and enter those points.
Q2: What is the maximum IPPT score?
A: The maximum is 100 points: 25 for push-ups, 25 for sit-ups and 50 for the 2.4km run.
Q3: How many points does an NSman need to pass?
A: An NSman requires at least 51 total points and must not receive zero points at any station.
Q4: How many points are required for Silver?
A: Silver begins at 75 points for the profiles supported by this calculator.
Q5: How many points are required for Gold?
A: Gold begins at 85 points normally. The selected Commando or Guards profile requires 90 points.
Q6: Is the displayed incentive guaranteed?
A: No. It is an estimate based on the selected profile and score; official eligibility and payment are determined by SAF or MINDEF.
Q7: Is this an official IPPT result?
A: No. Only the result recorded through official SAF or MINDEF systems is authoritative.
